New Kitchen!

Hi! well, i have finished the kitchen! I went from THIS......



To THIS! i think it turned out very very well! we have some work to do to the table.. Have to stain it and re-do the fabric.... but here is the finished product! (almost) ... What do ya think?

Artown Opening Night!

Last night (july 1st) was the "kick off night" for artown. For those of you not living in reno, its a month long celebration for the arts. dance, music, visual, just about any kind of art you can imagine! We started the day off walking around reno. just hanging out, going to the free midway shows at circus circus. around 5:30 we headed back to the park to get the blanket. we got ourselves a nice shady area in the grass and just hung out. Here are some of our pictures from the day!



This is "strange fruit" they are an australian group. This is the first stop on their US tour. The were on these poles, WAAAY up in the air, and below all different kinds of music played. Everything from classical, to opera. And they swayed and danced and just "played" up there on the poles. This was the marching band that kicked off the whole thing. They started somewhere on Virginia street, and marched all the way to the park. They are sort of a PUNK band, which I liked cuz they were different. The music was different too! Sorta swing, sorta marching band, with some good beats! There was a mural being painted on some buildings on virginia street. The guy did a fantastic job!

A lil trip over the mountain

So last weekend we decided to head over the mountain to Virginia City. Just to check it out a bit and have a picnic. We did the usual tourist thing. checked out all the little shops and places. next time we go, i hope to have more info about the city on hand, and maybe go on that dang train ride! Here are a few pics. Didnt really take many cuz we forgot about the camera!

Hi everyone! I am so sorry it has been such a long time! I have been quite busy settling in to the new place. Working on my arts and crafts. Would love to try to sell them at one of the "markets" we have around here! lets see, in the last couple weeks I have worked, but also we have done some neat things! First off, my parents came to visit. They got to check out the new place! they like it! and its funny, they knew right where it was! here are some pics from their visit down here..

Here is us all at dinner! we went over to applebees! it was so tasty!

Then, later that night we went to the midnight madness bowling... we had a pretty good time! I suck at bowling, but hey, its all fun!



After bowling, we went downtown and played the tourists. (well, half our group was!) We went into the nugget and got margaritas and some of those oyster shooters. they werent too bad! Then we went to a liquor/souvenir shop. They had the tequila with the worm in it.So we got some to try. (hey try everything once!) I made a margarita with my tequila. here is me pouring my margarita. Look at me, so excited to have it!

But, it wasnt quite what I was going for. i think the look on my face says it all! YUCK!!!!!


its really hard to see, but we have the worms in our mouths! Oh yeah, we ATE them! it was NASTY!!!!



while we were playing with our worms and tequilas mom just drank cosmos. It was a safe bet!





All in all, we had a GREAT time! so much fun!!
