Today is just another one of those "get all the projects" done kinda days. I have many many projects out and i figured since i cant really go anywhere i might as well as get them done.. so far, i have finished my coat rack! (i brought home a piece of wood from work, and with alittle elbow grease i turned it into a coat rack) since we have no where to hang our jackets by the door.
i still have to get more hooks so i can have some that go all the way across the board. but i think its really neat.. simple, yet elegant. and it didnt hardly cost anything at all.. Also i found my hooks at the dollar tree, so we can go back and get more when we are ready.. I did this project ALL BY MYSELF! i wouldnt let joseph help me, i wanted him to be proud that i could do it. he did help me with the visual part. (even though my level said it was level, he said it didnt look level) so i moved it while he told me how it looked. So now we have a simple coat rack for all the stuff that has been thrown on the counters and on the floor!
also, we had to borrow a carpet shampooer from a friend of mine. We had a few stains from potty training the puppy, and general stains that WERE there when we moved in. Also just wear and tear (im terrible with my coffee cup, it always spills) so we got most of the carpets shampooed. it smells and looks WAY better than before.
Then, i decided to work on decorating a bit. I subscribe to this magazine called REAL SIMPLE. i really love it, it comes with ideas for just about EVERYTHING! (visit www.realsimple.com) and you can check it out. but they say to use nature to decorate. there is no reason to go out and BUY decorations, when you have some right in your front yard! (for us it was the park) so i went around and gathered sticks and acorns, and pinecones. plus with the leaves changing, we have a very pretty pallet of color right there! i came up with these ideas
i had this vase left over from a trip to IKEA. i filled it with acorns and pinecones and stuck in a picture holder.. then i printed off some pics that i took of joseph and i. I then topped it off with leaves and VOILA! a really nice centerpiece......
the next idea was to take a bunch of stickes, tie them together with some twine, and have a nice little center piece.. so i tried it..
I dont really like it though. Every time i walk by i feel like im in the Blair Witch. kinda spooky. but it was worth a try! (we also rearraged the furniture, we wanted the ottomin next to the big couch so we could both lay down. so we moved the coffee table to the side of the couch. i really like it!
next on the list, is to get some things done for the craft fair.. so i worked on this journal..
the back of it has silver gutairs. all toghther i think i have 6 journals to sell. those were quite interesting to do. Nana bought my very first, so she had the original idea. i expanded on that idea by using ink instead of paint for the black. i am REALLY hoping these journals sell great. The ladies i have been corrosponding with have really liked the idea. (yay!)
also i have been introduced to Paper Bag albums. I really like doing them. I started one with a RockStar theme. that one isnt going too good. so i put it away and hope to get a great idea later... I made another album which is a CELEBRATION book. it is listed on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=300163351500&Category=11792&_trksid=p3907.m29
you can check it out. let me know what you think. Everyone that has seen it, has really loved it. i am really hoping they sell! next i wanted to work on an address book.
Here it is on my desk. (the little paper bags with the color) next to that is some stitching cards i worked on earlier today. i need to get them mounted and ready to sell!
so basically, i have been trying to get all these ideas and projects done. I know Joseph says he doesn't care, but i think he wants me to get some of the crap i bring home put to good use. he is very supportive of my ideas though, so i cant ask for much more! so that is it for now! break time is over, i have to get to creating more good stuff! ta ta for now!
